Got back yesterday to black skies and rain and all the usual stuff! A big thank-you for letting us stay at your wonderful house. It is amazing and far exceeded any expectation that I had. So now faced with the prospect of real life. DS [Aug 2007].        I will hold on to the lovely memories that I have from the holiday. Thank you so much. DS [Aug 2007].        I am still there in my head and resisting getting back to normal life. I would love to come again and will let you know when that is possible. TF [Aug 2007].        A truly lovely week in an amazing part of Tuscany. You have done everything to such a high standard, super comfy beds. (J & JG)        Stunning views across the valley and good wines. Very relaxing.        You've done a fantastic job creating an extremely comfortable house, which is just the right environment for a relaxing holiday and for visiting the attractions of Tuscany.(S & GF)        Lovely setting for a peaceful holiday. Good location and a beautiful house.        Back again. Lovely autumn weather, food and drink good as ever.        Coming to my senses at Ferchia has been an exceptional experience. Old walls and Lizards, circling buzzards, light and shadow on green hillsides, moonlit nights - THE QUIETNESS! (C.L.)        Genuine taste of Tuscany, perfect villa and surroundings. Excellent food at Pracando, shopping in Florence excellent. Very relaxing.        Highlights...Bike ride around Lucca (went back for more!) 10 different antipasta dishes at Da Silvio and of course beautiful house and setting. We loved every minute. (CT)        Enjoyed the home and surrounding area. Highlights: the gardens at Collodi, the spa at Montecatini Terme and of course the pasta at Pracando.        Outstanding food at Pracando. Lucca & Florence beautiful. The house - wonderful.        The perfect book reading location. Take the wine route from Montecarlo, it should not be missed. Wonderful.

Ferchia is the peaceful hillside hamlet near Lucca, Tuscany, where we have recently and lovingly renovated our self-catering holiday homes from a 300 year old farmhouse and estate. The conversion is of the highest standard, retaining many period features along with modern facilities such as underfloor heating, fully fitted kitchens and bathrooms.

This is the perfect destination all year round for a true Italian experience. Within our extensive grounds are three houses, which altogether can sleep 21 people, and individually any combinations from 2 upwards. All bedrooms are light and airy, with insect mesh blinds throughout, the sitting rooms are large with open Tuscan fireplaces and beamed ceilings. Our most recent addition is a detached house that sleeps 6 people, with its own terraces and garden.

Outside, there is a 13 metre (40 feet) swimming pool with solar panel and solar shower. There are superb views from the houses and pool across the wooded valley, where you can even watch buzzard hunting below you! The air is clear, our own spring water pure, above all there is no noise or light pollution. Guests returning from a holiday here are relaxed, refreshed and de-stressed.

There are many excellent trattoria and supermarkets locally, as well as wonderful places to visit such as Lucca, Pisa, Florence, Barga, Siena, Collodi (the home of Pinocchio and the famous Gardens) Pescia and Pistoia. Pisa airport is just 40 minutes away. Although the railway station is only 15 minutes drive, car hire is necessary to get to the house and explore the region.

Prices on application.
